FAQ
When do you have classes? Every day of the week between the hours of 9 am and 3 pm. Call us if those times do not work for you - we'll see if we can make arrangements to have an after hours class for you.
What time are your classes? After you register for your class you will be asked what time works best for you. You tell us! Give us a call if you can't make a class between 9 am and 3 pm. We also offer a class every Wednesday evening and several mornings each week at our Seminole County location.
Where are your classes? We have multiple locations and instructors. If this location does not work for you, please email lisaholt@orlandocprclass.com to inquire about making arrangements to meet up with a different instructor at a different location.
Does this class teach the American Heart Association Guidelines? Yes. Upon successful completion, you will earn a 2 year certification card from the American Safety and Health Institute.

CPR Pro for the Professional Rescuer is designed for healthcare professionals. Not a healthcare professional? Sign up for our CPR/AED for the Community and Workplace course! Upon successful completion of a written exam and hands on skill demonstration, the student will receive a two year certification card.
Health and Safety Training, Inc. is a training center affiliated with the American Safety & Health Institute (ASHI). ASHI's Basic Life Support Program content is based upon the 2005 American Heart Association Guidelines.
IMPORTANT NOTE: While we do offer online homework/written exam as an option - you must have a live class (or challenge) with an ASHI instructor in order to get your certification! This is not an online class - those are rarely accepted by employers and we do not believe that you can become adequately trained without live, hands-on practice. The online homework/written exam option is only meant to save you time - getting the lecture portion of the class completed on your own time gives yourself plenty of time to work on the physical skills you will need to reinforce to provide effective CPR!
We offer classes in three different methods:
1. Time crunch special! Complete your class in far less time with this option - register for your class and receive automated instructions on how to access online course materials. On your own time and in privacy, you can access those online materials as often as you like. When you feel you are ready, you can access the written exam. When you have successfully completed the written exam with a 70% or better, you are ready for the performance portion of the course. You will meet up with an ASHI instructor who will spend time with you to make sure that you have mastered the physical act of performing CPR. After you have satisfied both the written requirement and the performance requirement - you will receive your certification card.
This method is perfect for recertifications or for people who do best with an independent study method of learning.
Time required to complete: up to you! Some people are able to take the written exam and pass successfully after spending only minutes reviewing the materials - other people might take longer. Please plan to spend an hour with your ASHI instructor for your performance part of the course!
2. Traditional class. We have flexible instructors who will teach you in a traditional format, administer the written exam and help you master the physical performance part of CPR. After completion of this class, you will receive your certification!
Time required to complete: Please budget approximately 2 - 2 1/2 hours of your day to complete your certification via this method.
3. CHALLENGE! If you have a current certification card that has not yet expired and believe that you can challenge both the written exam and the performance evaluation without additional class time, please let us know that when we contact you to schedule the performance evaluation. Register for your course using this system, and you'll receive an automated email with directions on how to access the online materials and written exam. An ASHI instructor will meet up with you at a convenient time/location to conduct the performance evaluation portion of your challenge - upon successful completion of both parts, you'll receive your certification card.
Time required to complete: up to you! If you are confident in your ability to successfully complete the performance evaluation without additional instruction, you can be assessed in approximately 15 minutes!

Health and Safety Training is an American Safety and Health Institute authorized training center located in Central Florida. We offer training on many health and safety topics including CPR, First Aid, Bloodborne Pathogens, Babysitting Safety, Wilderness First Aid and Pet First Aid.
